In our Nashville Catholic schools, students have the unique opportunity for spiritual formation and faith development through their time with us. Our students’ daily lives are centered around spiritual and faith lessons that serve to grow and instill virtues and values, facilitate relationships with Christ and others, and contribute to the moral and social advocacy of our students.
We firmly believe in diversity and inclusion, so we welcome all students of all races, cultural identity and creed to experience a Catholic education. We believe that religious and cultural diversity, and a respect for all faith traditions and cultures, ultimately enriches the entire educational experience for all students and families. We have also found that parents (Catholic and non-Catholic) value the academic excellence of a Catholic school education and the respect shown in our schools for faith, beliefs, values and each other.
In our schools, Catholic students will receive the sacraments of First Reconciliation, First Communion and Confirmation. While our Catholic students receive these sacraments, our non-Catholic classmates still play a major role in the service. All students, whether Catholic or non-Catholic, participate in the preparation of each Sacrament. Our students also attend regularly scheduled Masses and participate in prayers during significant moments in the day.
Service learning is also an importance component of a Catholic education. Through service to others, our students learn compassion and empathy that stays with them long after they graduate. Our Middle and Elementary schools participate in a variety of school-wide service projects ranging from food drives to nursing home visits to community dinners. Our High Schools also have dedicated Campus Ministry Departments that develop class retreats, mission trips and specific service learning activities at each school and in the community.
